Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair
Window Frame and Window Regulator Assembly
• Disconnect battery before disassembling window frame or door.
1 - Window frame
Removal:
A sensor for side airbag is located on inside of door - arrow -, observe safety precautions for airbag.
• Remove door trim.
• Disconnect electrical connectors.
• Remove window regulator motor.
• Remove bolts - 9 -.
• Remove bolts - 5 -, - 8 -,- 9 -,- 10 - and - 11 -.
• Remove fitting bolts - 7 - and lift window frame with window regulator up and out of door.
Installing:
• Drive window into window frame half way before installing.
• Insert window frame and window regulator into door from above.
• Loosely screw in mounting bolts in the sequence - 7 -; - 5 -;- 10 - and - 11 -.
• Tighten the fitting screws and - 7 - and collar screws- 11 - by hand.
• Lightly press window frame - 1 - inward at top.
• Position adjustment bushing- arrow B - with an Allen wrench (9 mm) so that it comes in contact with inner door plate.
• Tighten bolts - 5 - and - 10 - to 32 Nm.
• Tighten fitting screws - 7 - to 32 Nm.
• Tighten bolt - 11 - to 10 Nm.
• Tighten locating screw - arrow A -in longitudinal brace on window frame to 32 Nm.
• Knock in the upper profile halves of door-side seal into window frame at top.
• For door inclination adjustment, adjustment bushing - arrow B - must only make contact on door plate.
• Window frame must not be adjusted by adjusting the adjustment bushing, rather window frame must first be pressed into the correct position and then adjustment bushing must contact inner door plate.
• Tighten all bolts in the specified sequence.
2 - Window regulator
• Bolted to window frame for installing in door.
3 - Spring nut
• Inserted on door flange
4 - Front Door
5 - TORX screw
• 32 Nm
6 - Cover
7 - Fitting screw
• 32 Nm
8 - Metal screw
• 2.5 Nm
9 - Collar screw
• 6 Nm
10 - TORX screw
• 32 Nm
11 - TORX screw
• 10 Nm
Window Frame Seal
- Before installing window frame - 1 - in door - 4 -, check for correct seal seating - 5 - and - 2 -.
- Replace seal if necessary
- Press seals into window frame as shown.
- Place window frame in door and install fitting screws- 4 - and collar screws- 3 -.
Upper Door Hinge
- TORX bolt (T 45) - 1 - ( installed from interior of vehicle ) 32 Nm.
- Upper door hinge - 2 -.
- Cover cap - 3 -.
- TORX bolt (T 45) - 4 - 32 Nm.
- Fitting bolt - 5 - (T 45) 32 Nm.
Lower Door Hinge
- Torx screws (T 45) - 1 - 32 Nm bolted to - B - pillar from interior of vehicle.
- Lower door hinge - 2 -.
- Cover cap - 3 -.
- TORX bolt (T 45) - 4 - 32 Nm.
- Fitting bolt (T 45) - 5 - 32 Nm.
- Re-grease lubrication points - arrows - in service interval.
- Front door - 6 -.
