Fixed Rear Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Upholstery clip pliers (V.A.G 1634)





1 Cover

• Removing

- Remove seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat.

- Remove the backrest. Refer to => [ Fixed Rear Seat Backrest ] Fixed Rear Seat Backrest.

- Remove center armrest. Refer to=> [ Center Armrest, Fixed Rear Seat Backrest ] Center Armrest, Fixed Rear Seat Backrest.

- Cut the upholstery clips - 2 -.

On vehicles with side airbag:

- Pry fastening strip - 4 - out with a screwdriver.

- Remove the screws - 7 - (2x).

- Pull side airbag - 6 - downward out of protective cover - 5 -.

- Remove side airbag on opposite side the same way.

All:

- Remove cover and cushion from backrest frame.

- Install cover - 1 -.

- Cut the upholstery clips - 2 -.

- Remove cover - 1 -.

• Installing

Install cover and upholstery in reverse order of removal. When doing so, note the following:

- When installing new upholstery clips, use (V.A.G 1634).

• Tightening specification 8 Nm
