Depth Adjustment Motor V256/V257

Driver seat depth adjustment motor (V256) / front passenger seat depth adjustment motor (V257)

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Move seat depth adjuster forward.

- Remove the front seat:

• Comfort reclining seat => [ Comfort Reclining Seat ] Comfort Reclining Seat

• Multicontour seat => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Remove the bracket for the front trim, the compressor and the multicontour seat control module. Refer to => [ Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module ] Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module.

- Partially remove upholstery from front seat cover and on the tunnel side. Refer to => [ Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Comfort Reclining and Multicontour Seat, Removing and Installing ] Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Comfort Reclining and Multicontour Seat, Removing and Installing.

- Remove bolts - 3, 4 - for tunnel side piece - 5 -.






• The sill side piece is depicted.

• Ignore - 1 and 2 -.

- Remove bolt - 1 - and swing seat angle adjustment motor - 4 - to the side.






- Cut cable ties, disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - and free it up.






- Remove bolts - arrows - and depth adjustment motor.

Installing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
