Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Upper Transverse Link, Tie Rod, Lower Control Arm and Level Control System Sensor Overview ] Upper Transverse Link, Tie Rod, Lower Control Arm and Level Control System Sensor Overview
• Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. Tighten the threaded connection on the suspension only when the vehicle is in the curb weight.
• Lift wheel bearing in control position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Rear Suspension.
- Install the lower transverse link.
- Install the bolt - 2 - and install the nut - 3 - loosely.
- Install the bolt - 1 - so that it is still loose.
- Lower the (T10149) far enough until it is possible to install the bolt - 1 - with the spacer tube - 2 -.
- Install the nut - 3 - so that it is still loose.
• Do not tighten the threaded connection using the nut - 3 -.
- Tighten the bolt - 1 -.

- Axle alignment is required, refer to => [ When Vehicle Alignment is Necessary ] When Vehicle Alignment is Necessary.
The axle alignment on the front and rear axles must be performed on a VW/Audi approved alignment rack.
- On vehicles with automatic headlamp range control system, perform a basic setting on the headlamps.
- If the control position was reprogrammed on vehicles with lane assist, the camera control module (J852) must be recalibrated. Refer to => [ Camera Control Module (J852), Lane Assist, Calibrating ] Testing and Inspection.
