Front Bumper Cover

Removing






- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to => [ Front Noise Insulation ] Front Noise Insulation.

- Remove the front section of the front wheel housing liner. Refer to => [ Front Wheel Housing Liner Front Section ] Front Wheel Housing Liner Front Section.

- Loosen the quick-release bolts - arrows -.

- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to=> [ Lock Carrier Cover ] Lock Carrier Cover.






- Remove the bolts - 6 - and - 7 -.

- Disengage the side piece - 8 - from the side panel - arrow - and remove the bumper cover with a second technician.

- If the vehicle has an infrared camera, remove the clamp and disconnect the water hose - 2 -.

- Disconnect the connectors - 1, 3, 4 and 5 -.

- Remove the bumper cover.

Installation

Gap dimensions: => [ Front Bumper Cover Gap Dimensions ] Front Bumper Cover Gap Dimensions.

Tightening specifications: => [ Front Bumper Cover Assembly Overview ] Front Bumper Cover Assembly Overview.

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Install the front noise insulation. Refer to => [ Front Noise Insulation ] Front Noise Insulation.

- Install the front section of the front wheel housing liner. Refer to => [ Front Wheel Housing Liner Front Section ] Front Wheel Housing Liner Front Section.

- Install the lock carrier cover. Refer to => [ Lock Carrier Cover ] Lock Carrier Cover.

- Calibrate the control module if the vehicle has ACC.

- Calibrate the infrared camera (R212) if the vehicle has one.

Calibrate the infrared camera (R212) in "Guided Fault Finding" or in "Guided Functions" under the following conditions, refer to vehicle diagnostic tester:

The infrared camera (R212) was removed and installed or replaced.

The front bumper cover was damaged, for example, by a cement parking stop.

The front bumper cover was removed and installed.

The radiator grille was removed and installed.

The rear axle was adjusted.

Work was done to the suspension.

The entry "no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation" is stored in the DTC memory.
