Seat Cushion Blower Fan V390/V391

Driver seat cushion blower fan (V390) / front passenger seat cushion blower fan (V391)

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the front seat:

• Comfort reclining seat => [ Comfort Reclining Seat ] Comfort Reclining Seat

• Multicontour seat => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Remove backrest:

• Comfort reclining seat => [ Backrest ] Backrest

• Multicontour seat => [ Backrest ] Backrest.

- Remove the upholstery at the side and rear of the seat pan. Refer to => [ Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Comfort Reclining and Multicontour Seat, Removing and Installing ] Seat Cover with Seat Cushion for Comfort Reclining and Multicontour Seat, Removing and Installing.

- Disconnect harness connector for seat cushion blower fan, free up electrical wire.






- Release latches - arrows - and remove blower fan with bracket - 1 -.

- Spray the rubber protrusions - arrows - of the elastic blower fan mount - 1 - with silicon-free lubricating spray.






- Detach blower fan from the rubber protrusions.

Installing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Set sealing ring for blower fan in place and install blower fan.
