Brake Booster/Brake Master Cylinder Assembly Overview
• Use only new brake fluid.
1 Brake Fluid Reservoir
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Fluid Reservoir ] Service and Repair.
2 Cap with Brake Fluid Level Terminal
3 Locking Pin
• Slide it through the brake fluid reservoir and the master brake cylinder.
• The locking pin must be pushed into the brake fluid reservoir.
4 Brake Booster
• If malfunctioning: replace as complete unit.
• With adhesive seal.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Booster ] Brake Booster.
Functional Check
• With engine switched off, depress brake pedal firmly several times (to exhaust the vacuum in the unit).
• Depress and hold brake pedal with average foot pressure and start engine. If brake booster is working properly, pedal will be felt to give noticeably under foot (booster assistance becomes effective).
5 Mounting Bracket Bolt
• 20 Nm.
6 Brake Lamp Switch (F)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Lamp Switch ] Service and Repair.
7 Bracket with Brake Pedal
• Bracket, removing and installing, refer to => [ Bracket ] Service and Repair.
• Brake pedal, removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Pedal ] Brake Pedal.
8 Bracket Bolt
• 23 Nm
9 Nut for the Master Brake Cylinder Nut, Self-Locking
• 49 Nm
10 Brake Line
• 24 Nm
11 Brake Line
• 24 Nm
12 Seal
• Replace
13 Brake Master Cylinder
• Cannot be serviced. Replace as complete unit if malfunctioning.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Master Cylinder ] Brake Master Cylinder.
14 Sealing Plugs
• Moisten with brake fluid and press into brake fluid reservoir.
Brake Booster Ball Head, Adjusting
Dimension - a - = 164.7 mm ± 0.5 mm
• Reference surface - 1 - for adjustment dimension
• When measuring, ball head must be arranged at a right angle to surface of brake booster.
• Measure to end of ball head without gasket installed.
