Bracket For Control Motors (V109) and (V412)
Bracket For Control Motors (V109) and (V412)
• For this bracket to be removed, the Right footwell door motor and Right footwell temperature door motor must be removed.
Removing
- Switch off the ignition.
- Remove the right front seat (front passenger seat).
- Remove the upper and right trim of the center console.
- Remove the glove compartment and the corresponding bracket in the area of the center console.
- Remove the right (front passenger) footwell vent, refer to => [ Right Footwell Vent ] Right Footwell Vent.
• A/C system malfunctions in the case of interchanged control motors and/or connectors, refer to => [ A/C Control Motor Block Diagram ] A/C Control Motor Block Diagram.
• The control motors and connectors are identical. If they are installed or connected incorrectly, the corresponding doors cannot be properly adapted and/or activated.
• Clearly label control motors and connectors prior to removal to prevent incorrect installation.
- Remove the right footwell door motor, refer to => [ Right Footwell Door Motor (V109) ] Right Footwell Door Motor (V109).
- Remove the right footwell temperature door motor, refer to => [ Right Footwell Temperature Door Motor (V412) ] Right Footwell Temperature Door Motor (V412).
- Label connector - A - to the right side vent motor (V300) (to rule out confusion in the event that several connectors are disconnected at the same time).
- Disconnect connector - A -.
- Remove bolts - B -.
- Detach wiring harness - D - from bracket - C -.
- Remove toothed segment - E - together with bracket - C -.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order while observing the following.
- Check cam plate - A -, actuating arms - B - and - C - to the various doors for proper functioning and proper installation position.
- Install toothed segment - E - on the correct side in bracket - C -.
- Install toothed segment - E - together with bracket - C -.
- When installing the bracket, ensure that toothed segment - E - (wide tooth) is in the correct position with respect to actuating arm - F - (large tooth interval).
- Install bolts - B -.
- Insert wiring harness - D - in bracket - C - so that it cannot come into contact with moving parts.
- Connect connector - A - to right side vent motor (observe the marking).
- Install right footwell door motor, refer to => [ Right Footwell Door Motor (V109) ] Right Footwell Door Motor (V109).
- Install the right footwell temperature door motor, refer to => [ Right Footwell Temperature Door Motor (V412) ] Right Footwell Temperature Door Motor (V412).
- Install the wiring connections to the various control motors so that they cannot come in contact with any moving parts.
- Install the removed parts in the opposite order.
- Perform the basic setting and the output diagnostic test mode of the A/C system using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
• In this vehicle, the control motors are equipped with electronics. During the basic setting, a new control motor learns its position on the A/C unit and can then be activated by the Climatronic control module (J255) (currently all control motors are identical). Check using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
• During the basic setting, the control motors are assigned and adapted corresponding to the switching sequence of the wiring. If this sequence does not conform with the specification, the control motors will adapt incorrectly and the door control will be wrong, refer to => [ A/C Control Motor Block Diagram ] A/C Control Motor Block Diagram.
- Check the event memory of the Climatronic control module and erase any displayed malfunctions using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
