Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair






Transmission Coolant Valve

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Removing

- Remove the engine cover - arrows -.






- Free up the hoses - 2 - on the air guide pipe.






- Loosen the clamps - 1 - and - 3 - and remove the air guide pipe.

- Free up the coolant hose - 2 - - arrow -.






- Loosen the clamps - 1 - and - 3 - and remove the air guide pipe.

- Disconnect the vacuum hose - 1 - and free it up - arrow -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Loosen the clamp - 1 -.

- Remove the air guide pipe with the hose - 2 - for the crankcase ventilation still attached and lay it to the side.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

- Loosen the hose clamps - 2 and 3 -, then clamp off the coolant hose with the (3094) and remove the hose.

- Remove the transmission coolant valve (N488).

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ - Tightening Specification ] Coolant Pump and Coolant Thermostat Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace O-ring.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model, refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA.

- Install the air guide pipe.

- Check the coolant level => [ Check the coolant level. ] Procedures.
