Headlamp Housing Mount
Removing
Danger of unintended engine ignition.
Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove the headlamp housing. Halogen headlamps, refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing, HID headlamps refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing.
- Remove the screws - 3, 5 and 7 - and remove the headlamp bracket - 4 -.
- Loosen the screw - 2 - three turns and remove the mount - 6 - from the headlamp housing - 1 -.
Installing
• Tightening specification refer to => [ Headlamp Housing Bracket and Mount Overview ] Headlamp Housing Bracket and Mount Overview, => [ Halogen Headlamps Overview ] Halogen Headlamps Overview, => [ Bi-Xenon Headlamps with Cornering Light Overview ] Bi-Xenon Headlamps With Cornering Light Overview.
- Push the headlamp housing all the way into the housing mount.
• The headlamp housing must slide into the mount gently without using force.
- Install the headlamp housing - 3 - and bracket onto the lock carrier and the fender.
- Tighten the screw - 1, 2, 4 and 5 - by hand.
• The guide tab - arrow B - on the headlamp housing bracket - 1 - must fit into the opening on the lock carrier - 3 -.
• The guides - 2 - and - 4 - must fit into the mounts - arrow A -.
- Install the front bumper cover. Refer to Removal and Installation.
- Align the headlamp housing gap - 1 - dimensions according to the body contours.
• Gap dimension = even gap dimension.
- Tighten the screws - 2 through 7 - while aligning the headlamp housing so that it sits flush with the out edge of the fender.
- Remove front bumper cover. Refer to Removal and Installation.
- Tighten the screws - 1, 2, 4 and 5 -.
- Install the front bumper cover. Refer to Removal and Installation.
- Check gap dimensions again, repeat adjustment of gap dimensions if necessary, as described above.
- Adjust headlamps. Refer to => [ Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting Conditions ] Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting Conditions.
