Track Control Arm Mount






Track Control Arm Mount

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pressure plate (VW 402)

Punch (VW 412)

Subframe support assembling device (3301)

Subframe support assembling device (3346)

Subframe support assembling device (T10030)

Assembly paste

Removing and Installing the Control Arm Mounting (On the Wheel Bearing Housing Side)

Hold on to the mounting firmly as you remove and install the control arm.

Removing






- Remove the control arm. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

- Mark the press-in depth on the mount - 1 - - arrow -.

Use a waterproof felt-tip pen/marker to make the mark.

- Lay out the special tools as shown in the illustration.

- Remove the mount - 3 - from the control arm - 4 -.

Installing






- Transfer the mark you made for the press-in depth from the old to the new mount.

- Apply a thin coat of assembly paste on the mount. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

- Install the mount - 3 - in the control arm - 4 -.

- Lay out the special tools as shown in the illustration.

Make sure that the mount does not get installed crooked when pressing it in to place.

- Install the mount - 3 - in the control arm - 4 -.

- Pay special attention to the press-in depth mark you made during installation - arrow -.

- Check the press-in depth for the mount - 1 - on the control arm - 2 -.






The - a - and - b - dimensions must be the same.

- If the - a - and - b - dimensions are different, press on the mount some more - 1 -.

- Install the control arm. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

Removing and Installing the Control Arm Mounting (On the Subframe Side)

Hold on to the mounting firmly as you remove and install the control arm.

- Remove the control arm. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

- Mark the press-in depth on the mount - 3 - - arrow -.

Use a waterproof felt-tip pen/marker to make the mark.

- Lay out the special tools as shown in the illustration.

- Remove the mount - 3 - from the control arm - 4 -.

Installing

- Transfer the mark you made for the press-in depth from the old to the new mount.

Bearing Installation Position





- A - = 90° +/- 5°

- Apply a thin coat of assembly paste on the mount. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

- Install the mount - 1 - in the control arm - 2 -.






- Lay out the special tools as shown in the illustration.
