Center Differential Housing Overview


There is a risk of damaging the transmission.

• Do not start or tow the vehicle when the center differential is removed or when the gear oil has been drained.






1 Screw

• 20 Nm plus an additional 90° turn

• Replace

2 Bolt

• Tightening sequence and tightening specification

• Replace

3 Center Differential Housing

• Refer to => [ Center Differential Housing, Transmission Installed ] Service and Repair

4 O-ring

• Replace

• Coat with transmission fluid

5 Center Differential

6 Ball Bearing

• For the center differential

• Refer to => [ Center Differential Ball Bearing ] Service and Repair

7 Locking Ring

• For the ball bearing on the transmission output shaft with splines

8 Locking Ring

• For the transmission output shaft with splines

9 Ball Bearing

• For the transmission output shaft with splines

10 Balance Weight

• Installed depending on the version

11 Shaft Seal

• For the transmission output shaft with splines

13 Dust Ring

• Replace after removing

Center Differential Housing - Tightening Specification and Sequence





• Replace the bolts for the center differential housing.

- Tighten the bolts in three steps in the sequence shown:
