Release Cable, Engaging in Hood Lock





- Insert the release cable nipple - 2 - in the operating lever - arrow - in the hood lock - 3 -.

- Engage the release cable with guide - 1 - in the hood lock from below.

• Before removal, first disengage cable in coupling in engine compartment, refer to => [ Hood Release Cable Coupling ] Hood Release Cable Coupling.

• Pry the clip out of the operating lever.

• Remove the cover sideways from the operating lever.

• Press in completely, it must engage.

Removing Hood Release Lever





1 Release

• Clip the release cable bracket in the mounting bracket as shown in the magnified section of the illustration.

2 Release Lever Mounting Bracket

• Release lever cover removed

• Lower A-pillar trim removed

• Remove the bolts - 3 - and disengage the cable - 1 -.

• 2 Nm

Release Cable, Routing in the Interior





- Route the release cable - 1 - on the A-pillar as shown.

- Install the grommet - 2 - all the way onto the A-pillar from the interior.

Release Cable, Routing in Engine Compartment





- Starting from the interior, route the release cable - 2 - forward toward the lock carrier in the fender mounting flange - 3 - as illustrated.

- Slide the coupling - 4 - onto the lock carrier. Refer to cable coupling => [ Cable Coupling ] Hood Lock Cable Assembly Overview.
