Procedure






- Complete test and adjustment requirements. Refer to => [ Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting Conditions ] Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting Conditions.


Risk of unintentional engine start and poisonous gas in closed spaces when working on vehicles with ignition turned on or on vehicles that are ready to drive. Risk of limbs and/or clothing being pinched and pulled.

Perform the following items before turning on the ignition:

• Put the selector lever into position P

• Activate the parking brake

• Turn off the ignition

• Open the hood

• Connect the charging unit i.e., battery charger (VAS 5903) to the battery jump start terminal for the 12V vehicle electrical system

• Turn on the ignition

- Turn on the fog lamps.

- To adjust headlamp range, turn adjusting screw - arrow -.

• Angle dimension: 20 cm (equals 2%).

• Side adjustment is not intended.
