Terminal 58st
Terminal 58st
Additional Components
• Headlamp switch (E1)
• Rain/light recognition sensor (G397) (special equipment)
Function
The terminal 58st button illumination is active when the ignition of the vehicle exterior illumination is on.
Terminal 58st also applies to the switch-on/switch-off condition for the interior lighting in the door contract position.
When the vehicle exterior lighting or the ignition is turned off, then terminal 58st will switch off 30 seconds afterwards.
Terminal 58st will turn off 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off to prevent draining the vehicle battery. Opening the driver door, turning the ignition on and off as well as turning off the exterior lamps will reset the time and terminal 58st will remain on for another 30 minutes. The timer runs out, then terminal 58st switches on again for 30 minutes.
The PWM signal from the vehicle electrical system control module (J519) illuminates the following components (if installed):
• Access/Start Authorization Button (E408)
• Tiptronic Switch (F189)
All other illumination, which is connected to terminal 58st, are controlled by the control modules based dimming values received by the CAN or LIN Bus.
Service Information
Terminal 58st is controlled by an actuator test in the vehicle electrical system control module (J519).
The dimming value of terminal 58st cab be displayed in the vehicle electrical system control module (J519) measured value blocks.
