Function

The footwell lighting serves as a entry/exit illumination. The footwell illumination consists of the left and right front footwell illumination bulb and the left and right rear footwell lamps.

The vehicle electrical system control module (J519) turns on the interior lamps and is synchronized wit the door contact switch:

If one of the front doors is opened and activates the interior lamp, then only the front footwell lamps are controlled.

If one of the rear doors is opened and activates the interior lamp, then only the rear footwell lamps are controlled.

The front footwell lamps are controlled together with the rear footwell lamps.

Service Information

The front and rear footwell lamps have LEDs and can be controlled by a actuator test in the vehicle electrical system control module (J519).

The footwell illumination will not be activated if the switch-off stage in the energy management system is at level 2, 3 or 4.
