Affected Vehicles

Condition

When the AM band is selected one or more of the following is present:

^ Only audio from the FM band is heard.

^ The volume cannot be adjusted when the FM band is selected.





The station list is empty or displays only one station with an odd-numbered frequency (e.g. 531, 1602 etc.).

The symptoms are not permanent and can be corrected using the MMI control panel.





With ignition switched on, press the upper right soft key to select the AM band.

^ If AM stations are present and/or option for updating station list functions, no other work is necessary. MMI system is OK. Proceed with additional diagnosis.

^ If AM stations are absent and/or option for updating station list does not function, press the lower left soft key for manual tuning.





a. Manually tune to station 540 kHz.





b. Press the upper right soft key and select the FM band.





c. Select the AM band again and update the AM station list.





The list is updated with available AM stations.
