Lid Seal







Lid Seal

Remove rear lid before installing seal.

Hinge lid must be disconnected for this.






1 Rear Lid Seal

Removal:

- Unclip trim panels on - C - pillar and on roof.

- Open rear lid and pull off seal at - C - pillar to the side

- Pull off seal from body flange in longitudinal direction at roof and at rear cross panel on bottom.

Installing:

- When installing, vulcanized seal butt joint - arrow - must led in center of vehicle.

- Insert seal through between roof and lid hinge.

Press seal all around onto body flange.

Re-install lid on lid hinge.

3 Loading Edge Cover

- Loading edge cover must be slid between seal as shown.

Lid Hinge, Disconnecting

When removing and installing lid (for example, when changing seal), do not remove lid from hinge.

Disconnect both hinges as described in the following.






- Place a cover at back of roof to avoid paint damage.

- Remove nut - 2 - on hinge.

- Remove lid with hinge arm - 3 - from hinge - 1 -.

- Place lid with upper edge on cover on roof.

- Second person must hold lid in upper area when installing seal.

- Install seal on upper body flange as well as upper - D - pillars in radius area.

- Reassemble hinges.

- When installing, lid is secured with mounting pins - arrow - and therefore must not be adjusted.

- Tighten nut to 24 Nm.

- Pas gas-filled struts onto ball studs.

- Press seal all around onto body flange.
