Seat Rail







Seat Rail

The following describes removing and installing the seat rails for a two-thirds seat bench with entry assist. Removing and installing the seat rails for the single seat in the second row of seats without entry assist is identical.

Removing

- Single Seat and Seat Bend, Removing, Second Row, refer to => [ Bench Seat, 2nd Row ] Bench Seat, 2nd Row.

- Single Seat, Installing, Second Row, refer to => [ Individual Seat, 2nd Row ] Individual Seat, 2nd Row.

- Lay the single seat or seat bench with the back of the backrest on a clean soft surface.

- Remove the caps from the seat rails: front => [ Front Seat Rail Cap ] Front Seat Rail Cap, rear => [ Rear Seat Rail Cap ] Rear Seat Rail Cap.

- Cut the cable tie - arrow - on the inner and outer seat rail and remove it.






- Disengage and remove the release lever - 1 - - arrow -.






- Vehicles with entry assist: drill out the rivet on the inner and outer seat rail - arrow - and remove any remaining pieces of the rivet.






- Remove the nuts - 1 through 5 - from the inner seat rail.






- Remove the bolt under the nut - 5 -.

- Remove the inner seat rail.

- Remove the nuts - 1 through 4 - from the outer seat rail.






- Remove the bolt under the nut - 1 -.

- Vehicles with entry assist: remove the bolt - arrow -.

- Remove the outer seat rail.

Installation






- Mount the outer seat rail on the lower seat frame.

Vehicles with entry assist: the lever - 1 - must fit into the pin - arrow - on the outer seat rail - 2 -.

Check the bottom of the seat rail to make sure the lever has engaged correctly.

- Tighten the nuts - 1 through 4 - all the way by hand but do not tighten them.






The nuts will be tightened only after the seat has been installed so that the seat rails line up.

- Vehicles with entry assist: tighten the bolt - arrow -.

- Mount the inner seat rail on the lower seat frame.






- Tighten the nuts - 1 through 5 - all the way by hand but do not tighten them.

The nuts will be tightened only after the seat has been installed so that the seat rails line up.

- Vehicles with entry assist: mount the stop lever - 1 - on the mounting pin and secure it with a rivet - 2 -.






- Engage the actuator rod - 1 -.






The angled part - arrow - of the actuator rod faces up.

- Install the cable tie - 2 - and tighten it.

- Operate the release lever, move the left and right seat adjustment to the same position.






Dimension - a - = 90 mm.

Dimension - b - = 90 mm.

- Tighten the nuts - 1 through 4 -.






- Tighten the nuts - 1 through 5 -.






Function test

The lower seat frame must move easily and without getting stuck over the entire adjustment travel when it is pushed back and forth.

Let go of the release: the seat must lock in each lock position on both seat rails (the lock pin is visible).

The entry assist must work.

After the functionality test, complete the installation.
