Crankshaft Main Bearing


















Guide Frame Tightening Specifications and Sequence





Replace bolts which have been tightened to an additional torque.
Tighten the bolts in 3 steps according to the tightening sequence:





Crankshaft Dimensions





Axial Clearance:
New 0.090 to 0.215 mm
Wear limit 0.280 mm

Radial clearance:
Position the bearing bracket and tighten it to 30 Nm; do not turn the crankshaft.
New 0.018 to 0.045 mm
Wear limit 0.100 mm

Allocation of Crankshaft Bearing Shells for Cylinder Block





Bearing shells with the correct thickness are allocated to the cylinder block in the factory. Colored dots on bearing shells serve for identifying bearing shell thickness.

- Arrow - points to belt pulley side.

Allocation of bearing shells to cylinder block is identified with a letter by each bearing.






Allocation of Crankshaft Bearing Shells for Guide Frame





Bearing shells with correct thickness are allocated to bearing cap at the factory. Colored dots on bearing shells serve for identifying bearing shell thickness.

Allocation of bearing shells to crankshaft is identified with sequence of letters on crankshaft side. The prefix "1" - marrow - indicates color code for bearing 1.
