Electrical and Electronic Components and Component Locations

Data Link Connector (DLC)






Installed location: DLC is located in passenger side footwell.

Check the following components using Guided Fault Finding vehicle diagnostic tester.

Transmission Control Module (TCM) (J217)






Installed location: The TCM is installed under the front right seat.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission Control Module (J217) ] Service and Repair.

Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit (Y26)






Installed location: The selector lever transmission range position display unit next to the selector lever. The display shows "P, R, N, D, S".

Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) with Tiptronic Switch (F189)






Installed location: The selector lever sensor system control module with the tiptronic switch is on the selector mechanism under the selector lever boot.

• The selector lever sensor system control module and the tiptronic switch are a single component.

• Tiptronic switch magnets are secured to cover.

Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)






Installed location: The shift lock solenoid is on the selector mechanism.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) ] Service and Repair.

Transmission Range Display (Y6)






Installed location: Integrated inside the instrument cluster

• The transmission range display can only be replaced together wit the instrument cluster.

Multifunction Transmission Range Switch (F125)






Installed location: On selector shaft at outer right of transmission.

• Always check the connectors on the multifunction transmission range switch before replacing it. Refer to => [ Multifunction Transmission Range Switch (F125), Removing, Installing and Adjusting ] Service and Repair.

Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182)






The transmission input speed sensor is installed near the ATF pump in the transmission.

Currently the transmission must be replaced to replace the transmission input speed sensor.

Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195)






The transmission output speed sensor is installed under the valve body.

Removing and installing the transmission output speed sensor (G195) => [ Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195) ] Service and Repair.

Valve Body






• Installed location: Valve body is bolted to the underside of the transmission housing and is covered by the transmission oil pan.

• Various speed sensors, pressure sensors and solenoid valves are installed on the valve body.

Cooling Oil Valve (N471)





Installed depending on the date of manufacture.

Installed location: The cooling oil valve is on the top of the transmission in front of the ATF pre-heater (- item 2 - => [ (Item 2) ATF Pre-Heater ] ATF Pipes, ATF Cooler and ATF Pre-Heater Overview).
