Right Flange Shaft Seal

• Identifying and allocating the rear final drive, refer to => [ Rear Final Drive 0BN, 0BP Identification ] Rear Final Drive 0BN, 0BP Identification.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Slide Hammer - Complete Set (VW 771)

• Pulling Hook (VW 771/37)

• Thrust Piece (T10181) Rear Final Drive 0BN

• Thrust Piece (T10433) Rear Final Drive 0BP

• Sealing grease (G 052 128 A1)

Removing

- Remove the right rear drive axle.

- Use the (VW 771) and the (VW 771/37) to pull the flange shaft seal off.






Installing Rear Final Drive 0BN






- Coat the outer circumference of the shaft seal with gear oil.

- Force the new shaft seal on up to the stop.

Installing Rear Final Drive 0BP

- Coat the outer circumference of the shaft seal with gear oil.

- Force the new shaft seal on up to the stop.






Continuation for All:

- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lips halfway with sealing grease (G 052 128 A1).

- Install the right rear driveshaft.

- Check the ATF level in rear final drive. Refer to => [ Axle Oil Level, Checking ] Axle Oil Level, Checking.
