Hood Assembly Overview






1 Hood

A second person is needed during removal and installation to support and hold hood.

Removing

- Remove the gas-filled strut from the hood. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut.

- Remove nuts - 4 - on upper hood hinge.

- Remove the hood.

Installing Reverse order of removal.

Adjusting:

- Align hood between fenders.

- Adjust height of hood over lower part of hood lock.

- Adjust hood to fenders using stop buffers. Refer to => [ Height Adjustment Stop Buffer ] Hood, Adjusting.

3 Hood Hinge

To remove and install, hood must be removed or supported securely.

Removing

- Remove gas-filled strut. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut.

- Remove the bolts - 2 - and nuts - 4 -.

Installing Reverse order of removal.

5 Gas Strut

Removing and installing. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut.

Install with tube end of strut at body.

6 Ball Stud

Hood Catch, Removing and Installing

- Remove nuts and remove catch.





Hood Lock, Removing and Installing





1 Hood Lock

Loosen upper bumper cover and press to side.

Disconnect hood lock cable at coupling.

Disconnect electrical connectors.

Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.

To adjust hood height, move lock up or down as required.

2 Lock Carrier

3 Bolt

11 Nm

4 Clips

Slide the clamp with the electrical wire onto the tab on the lock carrier.

Hood Hinge, Removing and Installing





1 Gas Strut

Engage hood side of gas-filled strut tube

Removal. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut

2 Hood

3 Nut

21 Nm

4 Hood Hinge

- Before removing a hinge, support hood or secure it against falling down.

- Remove gas-filled strut. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut.

Remove the bolts - 4 - and nuts - 5 -.

Installing Reverse order of removal.
