Entry Assistance Cable B
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove the front seat:
• Standard seat and Sport seat (manual), refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seat ] Manual Standard Front Seat.
- Attach the front seat to the (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing the Front Seat on VAS 6136 ] Installing the Front Seat On VAS 6136.
- Move the backrest forward as far as the stop using the hand wheel.
- Disengage the entry assistance cable B eyelet at the pin for the seat forward/back adjustment - arrow -.
- Disengage cable B - 3 - from the retaining plate on the seat forward/back adjustment - 1 -.
• Ignore - 2 -.
- Push the upholstery to the side.
- Disengage the eyelet on the "entry assistance" release cable B - 1 - from the pin - arrow - on the backrest hinge.
- Disengage the retainer on the "entry assistance" release cable B at the backrest hinge and remove the cable.
Installing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to=> [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
Make sure the backrest is in the basic position, for example it must be moved forward as far as the stop using the hand wheel.
- Engage the eyelet on the "entry assistance" release cable B - 1 - from the pin - arrow - on the backrest hinge.
- Secure the "entry assistance" release cable B on the backrest hinge.
- Engage the entry assistance cable B to the seat forward/back adjustment - 1 -.
- Engage the entry assistance cable B eyelet at the pin for the seat forward/back adjustment - arrow -.
• Ignore - 2 -.
Further installation is performed in reverse sequence of removal, but observe the following:
• Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Connect the battery Ground cable with the ignition turned on.
• If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory must be checked, deleted and checked again. Refer to vehicle diagnostic tester.
