MMI Radio, through 10.2008

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

The MMI radio (R) is located behind the luggage compartment left side trim in the Infotainment rack.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing

- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

- Loosen the nuts - 3 - - 1 -, - 2 -, - 4 - - 5 - on the Infotainment rack.






- Swivel the rack into the luggage compartment.

- Disconnect the connections - 1 -, - 4 - and - 6 - on the back of the radio - 2 - and - 5 - on the Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module (J401) - 3 - control unit.






- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.






- Remove the bolts on the left and right sides of the rack - arrows -.






- Remove the radio - 2 - from the rack toward the rear.

Installing

- Perform the installation in reverse order.
