Release Cable, Separating from Connector Station Retainer

The procedure for removing and installing the release cable is described on the basis of the left lock to the connector station. Removal and installation is similar on the right lock.

The release cable at the lock to the connector station can only be replaced with the cover and upholstery removed.

Removing

- Remove the seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat.

- Remove the backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest ] Backrest.

- Remove the headrests. Refer to => [ Headrest ] Headrest.

- Additional removal information, refer to:

Locking Mechanism, Version I:






- Detach the cable bracket - 1 - from the locking mechanism - 2 -.

- Detach the nipple on the release cable from the release tab - 3 -.

Locking Mechanism, Version II:






- Remove the support plate - 1 - on the locking mechanism - 2 -.

- Do this by pressing upward - arrow A -, swinging it outward - arrow B -. and removing it in a downward motion - arrow C -.

- Detach the cable bracket - 4 - from the locking mechanism - 3 -.






- Detach the nipple - 1 - on the release cable from the release tab - 2 -.

Continuation For All Versions:

- Unclip the clip; refer to => [ (Item 9) Retaining Clip ] Lock Overview.

- Open the cable ties; refer to => [ (Item 8) Cable Tie ] Lock Overview.

- Open cover - 1 - of connector station - 2 -.






- Disengage control cable bracket - 3 -.

- Disengage the release cable - 4 - from the cable connector - 5 -.

- Remove release cable - 5 - with connector station - 2 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

The release cable must not be adjusted.
