Front Brake Caliper

Replace the bolts - 13 -.






The brake pads do not need to be removed to remove the brake caliper.

Removing

- Raise the vehicle.

- Remove the wheels.

- Remove the brake hose from the bracket.

- Insert brake pads slightly into the brake caliper.

The brake pistons with the old pads still installed can pressed back to allow all brake pistons in the brake caliper to be pressed back evenly using pliers.

Be careful not to damage the coating on the brake caliper and on the brake pads.

Before pushing back the piston, siphon some of the brake fluid out of the brake fluid reservoir. Otherwise fluid will overflow and cause damage if the reservoir was topped off during repair work.

- Hold the brake caliper steady and remove the bolts - 13 -.






- Carefully remove the brake caliper from the brake rotor.

Do not let the brake caliper hang from the brake hose. Secure it to the body with suitable cable ties or wire.


Do not press the brake pedal when the caliper is removed.

Installing

Replace the bolts - 13 -.






- Carefully press the brake caliper with brake pads installed over the brake rotor.

- Tighten the brake caliper with the new bolts - 13 -.

- Place the brake hose into the bracket.

- Mount the wheels.

- Lower the vehicle.


After the first drive, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.


Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
