• Airbag adapter (VAS 6036)
• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B)
Airbag connector, disconnecting
CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.
- Bring seat into service position. Refer to => [ Front Seat, Bringing to Service Position ] Front Seat, Bringing to Service Position.
- Disconnect battery ground wire.
CAUTION!
Before handling any airbag units (for example, when disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Release side airbag connector - 1 - and disconnect it.
- Connect (VAS 6036) to side airbag connector on seat side - 1 -.
CAUTION!
The (VAS 6036) must stay connected to seat until seat is installed again.
Airbag connector, connecting
The airbag connectors are connected in reverse order. Observe the following when doing so:

• Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.
• Before handling any airbag units (for example, when disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
• Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
- Switch on ignition.
CAUTION!
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Connect battery ground cable with ignition switched on.
- If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
