Version for vehicles with automatically regulated A/C system

1 - Wiring harness of automatically regulated A/C system

Different versions (e.g. with or without connection to Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module (J604) , with and without Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) , with and without connection to Air Flow Door Motor (V71) , etc.). Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Mark the allocation before disconnecting the connectors (danger of interchange, connectors of same shape for different motors and temperature sensor).

Secure wiring harness to mounting points provided on housing (using cable ties, or on mounts) so that it does not come into contact with moving components.

From model year 2006, the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) has been gradually discontinued, on vehicles without this temperature sensor, only the Climatronic Control Module (J255) with part number as of index M is or may be installed.

On vehicles without Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) , a Climatronic Control Module (J255) with part number up to index L installed enters a DTC into the DTC memory.

Up to the end of model year 2007, the air flow door (fresh air door) was moved by Airflow door motor (V71). From the end of model year 2007, the Airflow door motor is being discontinued as a running change, on vehicles without the Airflow door motor the air flow door is actuated via a curved washer and lever of the Recirculation door motor (V113). Refer to=> [ Recirculation Door Motor (V113) ] Recirculation Door Motor (V113). Therefore note the correct allocation of the Climatronic control module, if the allocation or the adaptation is not OK this is detected during basic setting and stored as a malfunction. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog.

3 - Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35) with Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module (J604)

Only on diesel vehicles. Refer to Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) in "Guided Fault Finding".

The electric auxiliary air heater is available in different versions. On vehicles equipped with a diesel engine built through November 2006 (running change) the control of the auxiliary air heater heating element is via the auxiliary air heater control module. Check using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) in "Guided Fault Finding". On diesel vehicles built from November 2006 (running change) have a 3-stage Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element which is controlled by a relay from the engine control module. Check using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) in "Guided Fault Finding".

At this time, an Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35) is also installed in vehicles with Diesel engine and parking heater as optional equipment. At a later point in time (not yet finalized), the Auxiliary Air Heater Heating Element (Z35) will be discontinued, then the parking heater undertakes the function of the auxiliary heater.

Check the auxiliary air heater control module using Guided Fault Finding with the Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) in "Guided Fault Finding".
