Manual Transmission, Checking Gear Oil Level

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench 5-50 Nm (V.A.G 1331)

• Triple Square Socket Driver (3357)

or

• Internal hex socket insert, 17 mm

• Make sure that the vehicle is in a level position when checking the oil level.

- Remove the center noise insulation fasteners - 1 to 3 -.






- Remove bolt - arrow - for the oil filler bore.






• Specification: Oil level must reach lower edge of oil filler bore.

- If necessary, top off the gear oil; specification. Refer to => [ Code, Transmission Allocation, Ratios and Capacities ] Code, Transmission Allocation, Ratios and Capacities.

- Screw in bolt - arrow - with new seal.

- Tighten the bolt for oil filler bore to tightening specification.
