Condition
The front window binds or is noisy during operation.
Technical Background
Due to a change in the geometry of the front door glass mounting the window does not run parallel to the glass channel and damages it. This causes the pinch protection to intervene without obstruction or noises in the window mechanism during operation.
Production Solution
The mounted angle of the door glass has been corrected in production.
Service
Apply the following repair to both door windows even if the symptom is present on only one side.
1. Modify a piece of foil 8L3 863 145 by cutting a half-circle from it 20 mm in diameter, as shown in Figure 1. Insert the foil into the door glass mounting on the front track of the window regulator, as shown in Figure 1.
2. For each door the window glass channel must also be replaced.
