Front Wheel Housing Liner

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Locking pliers for the Phaeton steering gear (VAS 6199)

- Use to loosen the clips on the wheel housing liner.

• The front wheel housing liner is made of two pieces and can be removed separately.






1 Bolt

• 2 Nm

• Removing

• Driveshaft cover, removing

• Press in front wheel accordingly.

• Remove the bolts on the lower wheel housing liner.

• Loosen the retainer on the clip, for example, using a small screwdriver, and slide the clip sideways off the retaining pins.

- Disengage wheel housing liner from fender and pull downward and out.

• Installing: in reverse order

4 Clip

• Quantity: 7

• After removing the wheel housing liner, the clips must be replaced.

- To remove the clips - 3 -, unlock the release lever - 2 - with needle nose pliers in - direction of arrow A - and push it off the pin - 1 - in - direction of arrow B -.






- The locking pliers for the Phaeton steering gear (VAS 6199) may also be alternatively used to release the clips.
