Telephone System

The telephone system consists of the Bluetooth(R) hands-free setup.

• Bluetooth(R) hands-free setup in the information electronics control module 1 (J794) (MMI)

The information electronics control module 1 is installed with the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) and is part of the hands-free setup. Bluetooth(R) connect the cellular phone (R54).

The Bluetooth(R) antenna (R152) is integrated in the information electronics control module 1.

• Bluetooth(R) setup (CAN)

The telephone transceiver (R36) is installed with the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) and is part of the hands-free setup. Bluetooth(R) connect the cellular phone.

The Bluetooth(R) antenna is attached to the telephone transceiver.

Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.

Notes on Bluetooth(R) Technology

Bluetooth(R) technology, a standardized radio connection, is used to transmit data between the telephone transceiver/ information electronics control module 1 and cellular phone.

There is an additional transceiver unit in the telephone transceiver/information electronics control module 1. A Bluetooth(R) antenna connect the telephone transceiver/information electronics control module 1 and cellular phone.

The range of the radio wave connection is approximately 10 meters.
