Impact Member with Trailer Hitch

Removing

- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to => [ Rear Bumper Cover ] Rear Bumper Cover.

- Remove the trailer hitch socket.

- Free up the electrical wire spiral clip - 1 -.






• Use a soapy solution if necessary make removal easier.

- Disconnect the electrical connector on the radio frequency controlled clock receiver (J489) - item 2 -, if applicable.

• If the impact bar is replaced - 3 -, remove the radio frequency controlled clock receiver (J489).

- Remove the tie-downs.

- Loosen the left and right luggage compartment side trim in the rear area..

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the impact bar - 3 -.

Installation

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Impact Member Overview ] Impact Member Overview.

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Install the left and right luggage compartment side trim..

- Install the tie-downs..

- Install the trailer hitch socket.

- Install the rear bumper cover. Refer to => [ Rear Bumper Cover ] Rear Bumper Cover.
