Front Door: Adjustments







Door, Adjusting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Adjusting Gauge (3371)

Preliminary work for adjusting lengthwise and toward the vehicle center

- Remove lower A pillar trim..

Driver side

- Remove the relay bracket/fuse carrier with the vehicle electrical system control module (J519).

Passenger side

- Remove glove compartment.

Procedure for both sides

- Remove the A-pillar connector station.

Gap dimensions, refer to => [ Door Gap Dimensions ] .

1. Adjustment in longitudinal direction






- Loosen the bolts - B arrows - on the top and bottom of the hinge and on the A-pillar - 1 -.

- Adjust the door - 2 - lengthwise.

- Tighten the bolts - B arrows -.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Front Door Overview ] Front Door Overview.

2. Adjustment to center of vehicle

- Loosen the bolts - A arrows - on the top and bottom of the hinge.

- Adjust the door - 2 - lengthwise.

- Tighten the bolts - A arrows -.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Front Door Overview ] Front Door Overview.

3. Adjusting with striker pin





- Loosen the bolts - 2 -.

- Use the markings on the striker pin - a arrows - and on the body - c arrows - for the side adjustment.

- Slide the striker pin - 1 - until the door is flush with the body contours.

Only work from the center of the vehicle out when adjusting at the striker pin.

Do not adjust the door height using the striker pin because the door lock will be damaged.

- Use the markings on the striker pin - b arrows - and on the body - d arrows - for the height adjustment.

- Striker pin must align in door lock center for correct adjustment.

- Tighten the bolts - 2 -.
