Front Brake Rotor, Replacing

Always replace on both axles.

Always use new bolts, refer to the Parts Catalog.

Removing

- Raise the vehicle.

- Remove the wheels.

- Remove the front brake pads, refer to => [ Brake Pads ] Brake Pads.

Do not let the brake caliper hang from the brake hose. Secure it to the body with suitable cable ties or wire. Do not support the weight with the brake hose.

- Remove the bolts - 5 - on the front brake carrier.






- Remove the front brake carrier.

- Remove the securing bolt - arrow - on the brake rotor while holding the rotor firmly.






- Remove the brake rotor.

When removing the brake rotor from the wheel hub, do not tilt the disc.

Installing

Always use new bolts, refer to the Parts Catalog.

Clean the brake rotor, wheel hub and contact surfaces before installing.

- Place the brake rotor on the hub.

When positioning the brake rotor, do not tilt it on the wheel hub.

- Install the securing bolt - arrow - and tighten.






- Position the front brake carrier.






- Install the bolts - 5 - on the front brake carrier and tighten.

- Install the front brake pads, refer to => [ Brake Pads ] Brake Pads.

After replacing the brake pads, press the brake pedal firmly several times while the vehicle is stationary so that the brake pads are seated properly in their normal operating position.

- Mount the wheels.
