Brake Caliper, Replacing
Removing
• When removing, mark brake pads that will be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise braking effect will be uneven!
• Observe the direction of rotation when installing brake rotor -arrow on brake rotor- and installed location -left or right-.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the wheels.
- Remove brake pads, refer to => [ Brake Pads ] Brake Pads.
- Remove the bolts - 10 -.
- Remove the brake caliper.
Installing
• Replace Bolts
- Slide the brake caliper over the brake rotor.
- Install the bolts - 10 - and tighten them to 196 Nm.
- Install brake pads, refer to => [ Brake Pads ] Brake Pads.
- Bleed brake system, refer to => [ Brake System, Bleeding ] Service and Repair.
After inserting brake pads and before driving for the first time, press brake pedal strongly several times while parked so that brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
- Check brake fluid level, and fill if necessary.
Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
