Rear Brakes Guide Pins and Protective Caps, Replacing
If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, install repair kit. Use grease packet supplied to lubricate guide pins.
Removing
- Remove the bolts - 1 - on the brake caliper.
- Remove the brake caliper.
• Do not let the brake caliper hang from the brake hose. Secure it to the body with suitable cable ties or wire. Do not support the weight with the brake hose.
- Remove the protective cap - 9 - from the nut on the brake carrier.
- Remove the guide pins - 8 - from the brake carrier.
- Remove the protective cap from the guide pin.
Installing
- Grease the guide pin before inserting.
- Slide the protective cap over the groove on the guide pin.
- Slide the guide pin - 8 - with the protective cap - 9 - through the brake carrier.
- Press the protective cap over the groove on the brake carrier.
- Insert the brake caliper.
- Install the bolts - 1 - and tighten them.
