Sun Shade

Removing






- Remove the C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ C-Pillar Trim ] C-Pillar Trim.

- Remove rear shelf. Refer to => [ Rear Shelf ] Rear Shelf.

- Vehicles equipped with an additional rear shelf mount: remove screw - 2 - and spacer - 1 -.

- Vehicles equipped with a subwoofer: remove the subwoofer in rear shelf (R157).

- Remove the bolts - arrows - on the sun shade guide strip.






- Tilt the guide strip - 3 - in slightly and disengage both latches - 2 - and - 4 - by rotating slightly.






- Remove the guide strip from the connecting piece - 1 - on the sun shade.

- Repeat the procedure on the opposite guide strip.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - arrow - on the sun shade.






- Using a flat-head screwdriver, press the retaining tab - 1 - and pry out the luggage compartment light - 2 -.






The electrical connector - 3 - remains connected.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the sun shade carefully. Be careful with the rear window defroster electrical wires.

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- If removed, install the rear of the rear shelf - 2 - on the sun shade - 1 - - arrows -, aligning both parts to each other.

- Insert the sun shade - 1 - with the rear shelf into the rear shelf mount - 2 - - arrows -.






- Tighten the sun shade bolts - arrows -.






- Carefully insert the guide strip - 1 - into the sun shade connecting piece - 2 - - arrow -.






The sun shade guide channel must run into the guide strip without the connecting piece being offset.

- Clip guide piece - 3 - at both retaining hooks - 2 - and - 4 - on the front and rear with connecting piece - 1 -.






- To ensure the retaining hooks - 1 - are seated securely, pull them forward until they engage completely using an offset screwdriver - arrow -.
