Sun Shade: Service and Repair






Sun Shade






1 Sun Shade

Do not operate the sun shade when it is removed or it will be damaged and will have to be replaced.

The glass panel is removed.

The wind deflector is removed.

- Close the sun shade completely toward the rear.

- Remove the threaded connection on the retracting spring.

Let the retracting spring retract into the brake slowly. Otherwise it will be damaged and will have to be replaced.

- Open the sun shade forward completely.

- Remove the locking pin.

- Press the sun shade forward off the guides on the sunroof frame.

- Remove the sun shade upward from the frame diagonally.

2 Bolt

2 Nm

Retracting spring mounting bolt.

3 Bolt

1 Nm

4 Wind Deflector

The sunroof panel is removed.

- Remove the left and right bolts on the wind deflector.

- Remove the front clips and the wind deflector from the sun shade.

5 Bolt

2 Nm

6 Slider

The sun shade is removed.

Remove the bolt and remove the slider downward from the shade.

7 Bolt

2 Nm

Locking Pin for Sun Shade

Remove the locking pin before removing the sun shade from the guides.

- Remove bolt - 1 - on the wind deflector - 2 - and remove the locking pin - 3 -.






- Remove the sun shade from the guides towards the front.

Retracting Spring Threaded Connection






- Close the sun shade - 3 - completely toward the rear.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - and carefully let the retracting spring retract into the brake - 2 -.

Cable, Replacing






Only replace the cables in pairs.

- Remove the glass panel and move the roof into the "closed" position.

- Remove the motor.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - and slide the cable - 3 - back out of the guide.

- Slide the new cables in and tighten the bolt to 4 Nm.
