Cylinder Head Bolts, With Screwdriver Access





Replace all bolts
First step: Bolts 1 through 8 40 Nm
Second step: Bolts 1 through 8 Tighten 90° further
Third step: Bolts 1 through 8 Tighten 90° further
Fourth step: Bolts - arrows - 8 Nm
Fifth step: Bolts - arrows - Tighten 90° further





Replace all bolts
First step: Bolts 1 and 2 40 Nm
Second step: Bolts 1 and 2 Tighten 90° further
Third step: Bolts 1 and 2 Tighten 90° further

Cylinder Head Bolts, Without Screwdriver Access





Replace all bolts
First step: Bolts 1 through 10 40 Nm
Second step: Bolts 1 through 10 Tighten 90° further
Third step: Bolts 1 through 10 Tighten 90° further
Fourth step: Bolts - arrows - 8 Nm
Fifth step: Bolts - arrows - Tighten 90° further

Cylinder Head Distortion Inspection





Check the cylinder head in several places for distortion using a straight edge and a feeler gauge

Maximum permissible distortion 0.05 mm

Cylinder Head Cover Bolts





Replace bolts
First step Hand-tighten in several steps
Second step 8 Nm
Third step Tighten an additional 90°
