Window Shaft Strip, Front Door

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Removal Tool (T40219)

Preparing the Removal tool (T40219) :






• To remove the window shaft strip, pull the (T40219) carefully at the marked location - arrow - so that it can be inserted behind the strip.

Removing






- Lower the door window.

- Remove the window frame trim..

- Remove the mirror adjustment unit bracket. Refer to => [ Mirror Adjusting Unit Mount ] Mirror Adjusting Unit Mount.

- Remove the window guide from the guide near the B-pillar.

- Insert the (T40219) next to the guide- 4 - for the window shaft strip - 3 - and hold it on the strip - 2 -.

• The front section - 1 - of the (T40219) must be installed as illustrated.

- Push the (T40219) gently in - direction of arrow - to release it.

• The retaining strip must audibly unlock.

- Remove the window shaft strip upward from the door flange using the (T40219).

- Remove the molded piece - 3 - from the door shell.






- Push the window shaft strip - 1 - toward the rear - arrow - until the guide - 2 - for the molded part disengages from the trim on the B-pillar.

- Remove the window shaft strip.

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• When installing, the lower edge of the window shaft strip can be coated with tire mounting paste.

- Position the window shaft strip - 1 - on the door fold as illustrated.

- Push the window shaft strip forward - arrow A -. While doing this, the guide - 7 - for the molded part - 2 - must be pushed into the mount on the B-pillar - arrow B -.

- Insert the rubber nose - 4 - into the guide in the B-pillar trim - 3 - and press the retainers - 5 - and - 6 - onto the door shell.

- Press the window shaft strip - 1 - evenly - arrows A - so that the strip - 2 - audibly engages.






• The retaining strip must fit - arrow - under the retaining plate - 3 -.

- Install the window guide near the B-pillar:

- Install the mirror adjustment unit mount. Refer to => [ Mirror Adjusting Unit Mount ] Mirror Adjusting Unit Mount.

- Install the window frame trim..
