D-pillar Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Wedges (T10383)

Removing






Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

- Fold the backrest forward.

- Versions with a fixed rear seat backrest: remove the head restraints. Refer to => [ Rear Headrest ] Rear Headrest.

- Vehicles with rear window shade: starting at the top, use the wedge to unclip the trim panel - 1 - for the rear window shade guide strip (T10383/1) - arrows -.

- Pull the lower part of the trim upward and out of the rear window shade guide strip - 2 -; then remove it from the inside.

- Unclip the D-pillar trim - 1 - using the (T10383/1) trim removal wedge - arrow A -.






- Pull the D-pillar trim upward from the rear shelf - arrow B - and remove.

Installation

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

Do not pinch the head curtain airbag when installing the D-pillar trim.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
