Tunnel Side Trim
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove the front seat:
• Manual standard seat/Sport seat, refer to => [ Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual ] Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual.
• Standard seat/Sport seat/power Sport seat, refer to => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.
- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136, Installing ] Seats Overview.
- Remove the expanding rivets - 3 - and - 4 -.
- Disengage the tunnel-side trim - 2 - from the backrest hinge and remove it.
• Make sure the tab - 1 - is not damaged when removing the trim.
Installation

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
• Observe all measures when installing the front seat => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Make sure the tab - 1 - is seated correctly.
• Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.
