Backrest Cover with Backrest Cushion - Standard Seat/Sport Seat

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pry lever (80 - 200)

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Remove the front seat:

• Manual standard seat/Sport seat, refer to => [ Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual ] Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual.

• Power standard seat/Sport seat, refer to => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.

- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136, Installing ] Seats Overview.

- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover ] Backrest Cover.

- Remove the headrest. Refer to => [ Headrest ] Headrest.

- Remove backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest ] Backrest.

- Vehicles with Rear Seat Entertainment: remove the mount for the Rear Seat Entertainment. Refer to => [ Rear Seat Entertainment Mount ] Rear Seat Entertainment Mount.

- Remove the backrest cover clips - 5 - from the backrest frame using a pry lever (80 - 200).






- Detach the rear moldings - 1 through 4 - from the backrest frame.

- Vehicles with seat ventilation: disconnect the connectors from the fan.

- Remove the rear contour wire - 1 - from the backrest frame - 2 -.






- Remove the backrest cover with the lower backrest cushion forward from the backrest frame - 1 - - arrow A -.






- Carefully remove the backrest cushion - 3 - near the side airbag from the cushion protection - 2 - - arrow B -.

- Remove the backrest cover and backrest cushion upward - arrow C - and off the backrest frame while removing the backrest heating wiring harness and seat ventilation.

Installation

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
