Halogen Headlamps Overview

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to=> [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

• Headlamps must be adjusted after performing measures that could influence headlamp adjustment. Refer to => [ Halogen Headlamp, Adjusting, ] Testing and Inspection.

Part 1 - Headlamp Housing, Bulbs






1 Headlamp Housing

• The front side marker lamp bulb is an LED and is integrated in the headlamp housing. The LED cannot be replaced. The entire headlamp must be replaced.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing.

2 Filter Membrane

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Filter Membrane ] Filter Membrane.

3 Ventilation

• For headlamp housing.

4 Front Turn Signal Lamp

• Left front turn signal bulb (M5) , Right front turn signal bulb (M7)

• 12 volt, 21 watt (WY21W).

• Bulb, replacing, refer to => [ Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulbs ] Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulbs.

5 Socket

• For the front turn signal lamp.

6 Parking Lamp Bulb

• Left parking lamp bulb (M1) , Right parking lamp bulb (M3)

• 12 volt, 5 watt (W5W)

• Bulb, replacing, refer to => [ Side Marker Lamp Bulb, Left/Right ] Side Marker Lamp Bulb, Left/Right.

7 Daytime Running Lamps/High Beam Headlamp

• Left daytime running lamp (L174) , Right daytime running lamp (L175)

• Left high beam headlamp bulb (M30) , Right high beam headlamp bulb (M32)

• 12 volt, 55 watt (H15)

• Bulb, replacing, refer to => [ High Beam Headlamp and Daytime Running Lamp Bulbs ] High Beam Headlamp and Daytime Running Lamp Bulbs.

10 Low Beam Headlamp Bulb

• Left low beam headlamp bulb (M29) , Right low beam headlamp bulb (M31)

• 12 volt, 55 watt (H7)

• Bulb, replacing, refer to=> [ Low Beam Headlamp Bulb ] Low Beam Headlamp Bulb.

11 Sealing Frame

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Sealing Frame ] Sealing Frame.

12 Ventilation Hose

• For headlamp housing.

1 Headlamp Housing

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing.

2 Sealing Ring

3 Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor

• Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48) and Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V49).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motors (V48)/(V49) ] Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motors (V48)/(V49).

4 Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor Housing Cover

• The headlamp housing must be cut open to replace the positioning motor.

• A housing cover can be ordered to seal the assembly opening. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
