Climatronic Control Module (J255)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Hook (T40207)

- If the Climatronic control module, is replaced, select "Replace control module" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Removal






- Note the general information. Refer to => [ Climatronic Control Module (J255) ] Description and Operation.

- Use the (T40207) on the left and right to carefully pull the control head - 1 - to the first detent out of the guides.

- Tilt the control head slightly down and detach the retaining hook - 2 - at the instrument panel.

- Disconnect the electrical harness connectors - 1, 4, 5 - by pushing the fuse - 2 - upward and pressing the release - 3 - inward.






Installation

Installation is done in reverse order, observe the following:

- When replacing the Climatronic control module (J255) , pay attention to the exact allocation. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

After replacing/installing the Climatronic control module, perform the following work using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Perform coding or check the coding.

- Perform the basic setting.

- Read out the event memory (and eliminate the cause of an displayed entries).

- Check the adaptation.

- Perform the output diagnostic test mode if necessary
