Sensor Electronics Control Module
Excessive shaking will damage the sensor electronics control module (J849).
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 505 x)
Removing
• The sensor electronics control module is installed under the center console cover.
- Remove the center console cover.
- Disconnect the connector - 3 -.
- Remove all four nuts - 1 -.
- Remove the sensor electronics control module - 2 -.
Installing
Excessive shaking will damage the sensor electronics control module.
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Mount the sensor electronics control module on the four bolts.
• Make sure it is installed in the correct position The connector faces the direction of travel.
When installing the sensor electronics control module - 2 - make sure it is correctly seated in its mounting and is free of stress.
• Push the sensor electronics control module into position without using the bolts or using force.
• To install the sensor electronics control module free of tension, install all the nuts loosely and then tighten them diagonally.
- Install all four nuts - 1 -.
- Tighten all four nuts - 1 - to 9 Nm.
- Connect the connector - 3 -.
• Start the program in Guided Functions on the (VAS 505 x) if the control module is replaced.
- Turn off the ignition and connect the (VAS 505 x) to the diagnostic connection.
• Switch on ignition
• DTC memory interrogated, errors shown corrected and DTC memory erased.
- Start the program in Guided Functions.
