Flywheel and Dual Clutch Overview
• All assembly work and tightening specifications are outlined in the "7 Speed DSG Transmission 0B5, Servicing, (S-Tronic)" repair manual.
1 Flywheel
2 Clutch Cover
• There are different versions depending on the date of manufacture, with or without a thrust washer (- item 7 - => [ (Item 7) Thrust Washer ] ), allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog
3 Bolt
4 O-ring
• Replace
5 Dual Clutch
• Refer to the Parts Catalog because there are different versions depending on the date of manufacture.
• Always perform the necessary "Guided Functions" on the vehicle diagnosis tester after replacing the dual clutch. Refer to => [ Transmission Guided Functions ] 0B5A (S-Tronic) Transmission.
6 Transmission Housing
7 Thrust Washer
• Depending on the date of manufacture, clutch cover allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog
8 Ball Bearing
• For the input shaft
9 Locking Ring
• For ball bearing
• Replace
10 Locking Ring
• For the dual clutch
• Replace
11 Shaft Seal
• For the input shaft
12 Bolt
• Quantity: 6 for 6-cylinder engines
-Tighten the flywheel to the drive plate as follows:
- Install the first bolt - arrow - and tighten by hand (2 Nm).
6-Cylinder Vehicles
- Insert the (T40058) guide pins as follows:
• The large diameter - arrow 1 - faces the engine.
• The small diameter - arrow 2 - faces the adapter.
- Continue turning the crankshaft on the vibration damper 180° in the direction of the engine rotation using the (T40058) - arrow -.
• The 6-cylinder TFSI gasoline engine is shown in the illustration.
- Tighten the bolt with the crankshaft in this position. Refer to => [ Flywheel and Dual Clutch Overview ] Service and Repair.
- Continue turning the crankshaft 60° and tighten the remaining 5 bolts to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Flywheel and Dual Clutch Overview ] Service and Repair.
8-Cylinder Vehicles
- Attach the (T40272) to the vibration damper bolts.
• The semi-round recess - arrow A - on the (T40272) must face the semi-round recess - arrow B - on the vibration damper.
• Ignore the notch on the (T40272).
- Turn the crankshaft at the vibration damper 180° further in the direction of the engine rotation - arrow - with (T40272) and the offset open-end wrench.
- Tighten the bolt with the crankshaft in this position. Refer to => [ Flywheel and Dual Clutch Overview ] Service and Repair.
- Continue turning the crankshaft 60° and tighten the remaining 5 bolts to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Flywheel and Dual Clutch Overview ] Service and Repair.
