Drive Axle







Drive Axle

Removing

- Loosen the connection between the drive axle and wheel hub. Refer to => [ Drive Axle and Wheel Hub Threaded Connection, Loosening and Tightening ] Drive Axle and Wheel Hub Threaded Connection, Loosening and Tightening.

- Remove the rear wheel.

Vehicles with Steel Suspension

- Remove coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Rear Suspension.

Vehicles with Air Suspension

- Bleed the air springs on the rear axle. Start the program on the vehicle diagnostic tester in "Guided Functions".

- Tighten the bolt - 2 - just hand-tight and secure the mounting strap - 1 -.






- Remove the rear final drive.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - and the rear speed sensor - 1 -.






- Remove the drive axle toward the inside.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Drive Axle Overview ] Drive Axle Overview.

- Install the rear final drive.

- Install the rear speed sensor.

- Install the rear wheel.

- Start the program on the vehicle diagnostic tester in "Guided Functions" and fill the air springs on the rear axle.

- Tighten the drive axle to wheel hub threaded connection. Refer to => [ Drive Axle and Wheel Hub Threaded Connection, Loosening and Tightening ] Drive Axle and Wheel Hub Threaded Connection, Loosening and Tightening.
